Come Play on Our Stages.
In general, Old Settler’s books approximately 30 artists for each festival. Every year, we work to book the perfect mix of established acts, local favorites, and breakout artists playing all flavors of roots music-including bluegrass, folk, acoustic, country, gospel, blues, and traditional.
If you’re an established musician and you’d like to talk about performing with us, have your booking agent get in touch . If you’re a new artist looking to play in the festival, be warned: we book only a very few new artists. Still, who knows? You could be an exception.
Please, submit your music for consideration at Sonicbids. The Sonicbids EPK (electronic press kit) format and Sonicbids tools make it easy for us to review, filter applications and receive all the necessary info we need to book artists. We promise to review everything submitted by December 7th 2016, and we’ll choose at least one, possibly more, artists from Sonic Bids. In the past we’ve booked SHEL, The Deer, Front Country, Betty Soo, Jenny Reynolds, Dirtfoot, The Giving Tree Band, and Rose’s Pawn Shop from Sonic Bids submissions. If you’re not already Sonicbids member, you can create an account for FREE!
Here are some of the things we look for in the new artists we book:
• Great music that falls within the broad category of folk, Americana or roots.
• At least one professionally-recorded CD.
• The ability to demonstrate at least a following. Will people pay to see you?
If for some reason, you do not want to apply via Sonicbids — Send us one cd — make it your latest, live, if possible, and one sheet about you (press quotes, where you’ve played, contact info). OR send links or two mpgs to firstname.lastname@example.org. We try to get to everything, but we can’t guarantee anything.
