Kevin Vaughn - PresidentKevin Vaughn is a program director for Schneider Electric, a global French energy equipment company. He develops and installs large energy efficiency and renewable projects for the Federal government. His passion for music is satisfied through volunteering at OSMF for over 21 years, which has included managing the Hill Country Stage and serving on the Board of Directors (currently as President).
Julia A. B. Haug - Vice PresidentJulia A. B. Haug is a Clinical Assistant Professor of English Education for the UTeach-Liberal Arts Program at The University of Texas at Austin and a proud resident of Lockhart, TX.
David Spivey - TreasurerDavid retired from UPS in 2015 after 36 years working in operations, industrial
engineering, sales and marketing. Residing in MD, David attended the festival
sporadically, saving his vacation time for his true passion, skiing. Since retirement
in 2015, David has attended the festival each year arriving early and running
errands for the Executive Director, Jean.
Diana Harrell -SecretaryRolling up her sleeves and jumping in with both feet is a philosophy Diana has used throughout her career which has spanned Sales, Technical Writing, Graphic Design, Branding, and Marketing. She loves building things, from wheedling a hammer and saw while helping her husband construct their hill country home to putting together the first-ever Office of University Marketing at Texas State University.
Amy BramwellAmy Bramwell is an architect and principal at Studio Steinbomer, Architects in Austin. Her work
has been largely focused on facilities to support the film, TV, music, and digital media production industries in Austin.
Betsy BooneBetsy is an avid music fan and festival goer as well as an advocate for musicians through her work with Black Fret and the SIMS Foundation. She has been attending OSMF since 2002 – it is her favorite time of the year! Betsy brings a background in marketing and development to her board role. She enjoys camping, wine, local food and the great outdoors. Betsy and her husband live with 2 rescue dogs and various foster dogs in east Austin.
Scott CollardScott Collard is the owner of Scott Collard Home Improvements Inc, a residential remodeling company that has been in Austin for 30 years. Prior to his contracting work, he was a chef in the restaurant business. His remodeling work can be seen in hundreds of homes in the Austin area. He is especially passionate about woodworking, cooking, and music.
Johnny HarveyJohnny Harvey began volunteering with Old Settler’s Music Festival in the early 2000’s. He has worked as the Bluebonnet Stage Manager as well and has led the Sponsorship Committee. He served as both President and Vice President of the Board of Directors. As the owner of Level Best, Johnny is a foundation specialist who inspects homes with foundation problems and estimates cost repairs on such homes. Kristine WalkerKristine has found her ultimate gig stewarding sustainability for our beloved Festival…we won’t tell her day job! Creating eco friendly spaces that inspire and nurture people are her passion. She has led the creation of sustainability plans and green building projects for campuses, cities, and large organizations in the US and abroad. Jean Spivey - Executive DirectorJean Spivey became involved with Old Settler’s after moving to Austin in 1997. In 1999, she was hired to market the festival. In 2007, she became Executive Director. As the only full-time staff member, her responsibilities include talent buying, marketing, budgeting and bookkeeping, administration, sponsorship coordination, and artist relations.
Samara Simpson - Executive AssistantSamara Simpson has actively participated in the music industry for over a decade. She recently
returned to higher education after a long career in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management.
Samara graduated with honors in 2019 with a degree in Applied Science: Music Business,
Performance, and Technology from Austin Community College.
